Love is Like a Run
Love is like a run,
and for you
my race never ends
Love is like track spikes,
carrying and propelling me
to triumph
Love is like a track,
as far as you may go
It never comes to an end
Love is like drafting,
As hard as the wind blows
I know you’ll be there to block it out
Love is like a mile,
and even on that final stretch
I will not give an inch
Love is like a run,
So I was thinking
Wanna run with me?

I am a runner. I couldn't live without it. When my mother's birthday came along, I was having trouble coming up with what to get her. With no time left to buy anything, I decided to write a poem. But I didn't want it to be one of the dumb ones you write in school for holidays. I wanted it to be special. So I wrote it about the two things that mean most to me: my mom and running.
