Forget Me Not
Nobody knows her name
Nobody sees her face
She sits alone in the corner of her room
Consumed by darkness,
humming an enchanted tune
Though she tries, she can't recall the words,
all words are lost to her
And her only books fell through the rotting floor boards a long time ago
Never moves, never speaks, never eats, never sleeps,
yet she is always in a dream
She stares out her blackend window with unseeing eyes
She conjures false images behind fragile eyelids
Voices softly murmer in the back alleys of her mind,
words she recognizes but can't quite make out
Her feet have grown into the earthy floor, like the roots of trees
Lips fused together from lack of use,
years of keeping her mouth shut
She has begun to sink into the faded, peeling wallpaper
She is vanishing from a world who was unaware of her existance
to begin with
No one visits her anymore
She is left in her isolation
She once was loved,
now she is forgotten
