I’m sorry I killed your flowers.
I forgot to water them
once a day like you said,
the sun sucked every bit of life out of them.
I’m sorry I killed your flowers.
I didn’t mean to, but
I stepped on their delicate petals
with heavy shoes.
I’m sorry I killed your flowers but
they will bloom again
in the spring.
