When you look at me what is the first thing you think of? Most of my friends will take this question and use it against me I know, but what is the first thing you think of when you look at me? I could sit and listen all day from general things to more radical things but my point is, is thatwhat you think you see is not always what I am. While yes, I am brown skin and a boy with short hair, if I asked you on a more critical way of thinking "What do you see when you look at me?" You'll stop for a moment, analyze the question and 9 times out of 10 you'll ask "What do you mean?" What do you see in me? Why can't you answer that question? Because you don't know me, it's as simple as that. A famous quote we've all heard but seem to forget so let me remind you, "Don't judge a book by its cover" but then, why have one? A cover is meant to draw you in and to learn what the content inbetween each page actually means. To give it a chance to express and explain itself and unfold. That maybe the cover was a decoy and the pages inside when you read them gave you a new outlook or perspective, wings and the ability to fly. To witness what you never guessed you would and take you on an adventure and feel alive inside. That's all the author wanted you to feel. So, maybe the next time, you'll give the author a chance before their book shuts and the final page is stamped, no engraved with the final seven letters that have sealed so many stories before they were finished. So i'll ask you again.. what do you see when you look at me?

The author's comments:

We're all judged before actually being known. Why not just ask..
