Once Before
I was once innocent,
knowing nothing.
Completely in the dark.
All I wanted to do was play in the park.
Bask in the sun,
and come home with sunburned cheeks.
Noon was the golden hour.
Now things are different.
Now the times have changed.
Never stopping to sleep,
for at night we never dream.
In daylight never showing.
For there was an innocence lost in the night,
captured and stolen.
