For A bird
You fly very well,
For a bird whose wings have been clipped,
And you step over cracks vey considerately,
For a child whose mother is dead.
You smile very brightly,
For someone about to break in half,
And you laugh very loudly,
For someone about to drown in tears, like broken glass.
You look very calm,
For someone who's dead,
You look very sad, though,
For someone who put a bullet through their head.

This piece was inspired by a photo I saw which depicted a crying angel with tattered wings. I hope that this poem will make you look deeper into a person's smile, because, sometimes, people are not so happy as they seem.
