Captain
I am the captain of my ship and it’s sinking.
It started with just a sprinkling,
and then came the waves and the rain, in a swarm,
looked at sky and realized we’re in storm.
So I looked at my crew
And they knew what to do.
We went to work.
Doing what we could.
But all we could hear
was snapping wood.
Sails came falling,
men from the ocean calling.
They yell for help.
As the waves grew they washed over my crew.
Until I was left alone,
just me and my ship,
water rising to my lip.
So I look at the world and take one last sip
and all I was thinking,
“I am captain of my ship, and it is sinking.”
