Helpless Hope
Silence
Stands still
As we're feeling a hurricane
Thrash at our hearts
Our footsteps remain
But yours does not
And we feel incomplete
A burning passion
Of love
Of hope
Radiates among us
This, you can not achieve alone
But together
We can move mountains
Your eyes may be closed
But heart is alive
So grasp onto our hands
We know you'll survive

This is a piece I wrote when a very well-known senior in my school got in a car accident. Our entire community wore t-shirts to honor him and everyone was very hopeful he would come out of a coma. It was a very tough time for our school district and little did we know, he turned out to be brain dead and passed away shortly after I wrote this poem.
