Enslaved to An Addiction
Bound and shackled
He watches. Chains surround
His figure, coiling their cold metal
Round and round;
Anacondas stifling human prey.
They tether him to a solitary need
A necessity which he is obligated
To fulfill.
He stands
Shaking, faltering.
Wrinkles etched into every crevice
Disguise his young face.
Trying to move one foot forward, he stumbles
Falls again
Overtaken by the weight of the chains
That demand him to succumb.
A slave, he is
To no mind but his own.
