There is me and there is you. You are free. You can fly away to your hearts contents. But I, I am not free. I have no wings to carry me to my dreams. You little butterfly, can fly away from your problems without a care. But I am locked away. Far away from everything I have. But you, you are not. You have the power to leave and come as you please. You have everything you could ever need or ever want. I have nothing. I have a stone cold cell with no one but me. The nights are cold, dark and I see no moon. I can’t even remember the smiling little moon. The days are cold and dim. I can barely remember the warm touch of the sun. You are lucky. You get to see the sun, and feel its warm touch. You get to see the moon and marvels at its glowing smile. I wish I could leave this horrid place and escape with you. I would fly far away. So far no one could ever find me again. I dream of the world and leaving here. Oh how I would love to leave this cold hearted place and come be by your side.

My poem was inspried by the Holocaust and the stories the child used to write.
