Point of No Return
The elevator pings
and opens
Welcome to Twitter
Stepping in
the doors close behind
Trapped
Suffocating slowly
No one helps
and yet there are people all around
Tweets flying
short of value
Desperate attempts for attention
Freedom of speech misused
A harsh comment
creates a crushing sensation
Heart rate is erratic
The crowd closing in
But they haven’t moved
The door glides open
a chance to leave the vertiginous ride
Scrambling
Frantic to leave
hoping not to be trapped any longer
Failing
the door slides shut
stuck in that never-ending
place of pain and mistrust

The poem itself isn't about slamming Twitter. This is about social media struggles on all sites. I just chose one site because saying 'all of social media' wouldn't flow with the poem.
