High School

High school is the worst.
You fall in love

Or you fall out of love.

You find out who your true friends are

And who aren't worth your time.

And some day you'll find yourself in your room.
crying,
Trying to gasp for air

Because nothing in the world can make you feel better.

As you try to get back up, you meet this boy.
Different from the rest,
But rather so beautiful.
You're afraid to reach for his hand as he reaches out to you
like a branch on a tree,
But you believe that it could work
So you take his hand.

It's been 2 weeks and all you guys have done
was text.
He says all these amazing things to you
And you swear he's the one.

He's the first to say the 3 magic words within the first 3 days.
And you're scared to say it back
because maybe it was a lie.

How can someone love you within a matter of 3 days?
All your friends warn you
But you don't listen
Because you are blinded by love.

You believe everything he tells you.
He's simply amazing.
the greatest.
He'll tell you things that'll make you cry with happiness in your heart.
He'll put the stars in the sky at night

And he'll treat you like the queen you are.

But one day, something happens without a reason.
So unexpected .

"I love you."
He whispers in your ear and you smile.
"I love you too."
But this time,
he doesn't smile,
Or kiss you on the forehead.
because he doesn't feel that way about you
but he'd rather lie than say the truth.

Sooner or later,
He leaves you.
You don't know why
So you ask him
"Why?"
And the only answer he can give you...
is
"I'm sorry."

But that's not a good enough excuse.
So you sit in your room
Rethinking everything that could've gone wrong that day
Or that week.
And you begin to cry.

Because how can someone so amazing
Lie and say they love you..

When it was all just a lie.
