Ali Haddox
I’m the girl that always
had that grin on her face.
I told only the cheerful stories
that I have experienced.
I told the stories about my
childhood, only joyful ones.
No one would ever guess
that I had depressing ones.
Yes, I did things I regretted
but I bet I had more fun.
I showed everyone that their
opinions didn’t matter.
I was a flawed girl but
not many people knew what
was actually going on
inside of my head.
I knew what I was doing,
just wanted to have stories to
tell my children.
My grandchildren.
