What is Hope?

They say hope is a beautiful thing,
Forgetting she is often deceiving.
She always finds a way inside,
Give her your dreams, she’ll take your life.
She grabs hold of your heart and gives it wings,
And yet, you’re hooked like a puppet with strings.
She’ll tell you to hope for something better,
But that’s when you’ll realize you shouldn’t have let her.
