Broken
It was a Friday night,
I had big plans and wanted to ask you.
After the show was over I waited,
Then I asked and the answer was so abrupt.
I felt my heart drop and start to race,
I banged my head against the wall.
I knew that this would either start a new chapter ,
Or end a chapter of life without you in it.
What I wanted to do after was wrong,
I wanted to drink away my sadness.
I wanted to eat away my thoughts,
I wanted to forget that night entirely.
I couldn’t let the feelings I have go,
Cause I know that you are light.
Emily, you are the light in the tunnel,
You lit up the world for me.
I feel like that night on May 6,
I lost my best friend and a great friendship.
I feel like,
I lost you, Emily.
