Panic Room
“I thought you said that no one knew?”
(I felt about as nasty as an old shoe)
“Shut up about it…...we need to think”
(I just knew we were a ship about to sink
…...and MAN did that Janitor’s closet stink)
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Heavy footsteps down the hall
“Dammit!”
(We needed more time to stall)
Sly shadows passed under the wooden door
(We couldn’t even comprehend what we had in store)
With tears in her eyes; “Let’s just confess!”
“No! Because in prison I can’t wear a dress”
“Please! I’m begging you!” Between silent sobs
(I just prayed no one would turn that knob)
And there we sat on the closet floor like two fools…
I still couldn’t believe what we did
….and all just to be “cool”
