The Youth.
I’ll never forget his face,
his rich shaggy jet black hair,
those cool steel blue eyes,
and a smile so bright and infectious,
you couldn’t help but smile back.
He was a free spirit youth,
adrift in life without a worry.
A firefighter he was,
and what a heart of gold he had.
He lived his dream to help others,
he wouldn't have had it any other way.
But now he’s gone.
It’s been four years since he passed.
A bright life cut so tragically short when his firetruck crashed.
He was like family. I mourned him, we all did.
He was forever immortalized as a hero,
forgotten he will never be.

A Poem I wrote for my Creative Writing class. It's about a friend who passed away a few years ago and I wanted to make a poem about it for my class.
