Grounding
Life is moving too fast.
You turn around,
And you’re light-headed.
You’re in a different place than before,
But you never even knew you left.
So you need to ground yourself.
Stop moving.
Be silent.
Use your senses.
Make note of your surroundings.
Smell the air around you.
Hear the soft noises,
You didn’t hear earlier.
Feel the force of the ground on your feet.
Feel your skin soaking in the light.
Breathe slowly.
Feel your pulse coursing through your body.
Take in the atmosphere,
Or create your own.
Do what you want,
But stop sometimes.
Life isn’t a to-do list.
Life isn’t a contest.
Life is a sensory pleasure,
That is too often
Taken for granted.

It just seems like I'm always doing something and I barely have enough time to sit back and actually enjoy things.
