The Death Sentence

Mommy told me that daddy did something bad
.
she wouldn't tell me what except that it made some people mad
she told me to get dressed nice and to get in the car
.
Once inside we would drive somewhere far.
We arrived at a brick building it was square and tall
.
I see my daddy being yanked out of a stall
.
He gives me a hug and tells me he loves me
.
"Please, daddy, don't go" I would plea
quiet and then someone spoke, "crimes punishable by death!"
That day was the day my daddy took his final breath
