Rivers of Sadness
Sadness is a river.
Swimming upstream doesn’t help.
You have to turn around,
and face the miles of water ahead
towards the unknown future.
It is the current getting faster,
requiring you to persevere.
Gradually, the current gets sluggish
making it possible to grab onto
a rock peeking out above
the foggy water. Before another
problem makes a splash
loosening your grip
making you unable to hold on anymore.
Dragging you back down the gloomy
stream, you are submerged in the salty tears.
You dream one day to reach the end,
but then realize it made you who you are.
