Sincerely, Teenagers
We scream at the moon because we are too afraid of our own reflection
We tear our friends apart because we fear they might do the same
We don't sleep because we are too afraid of our own dreams
What life do we live?
Chained by possibilites and failures
When I see your life, I see what mine could be
When you see mine, you see what it should've been
"Grow up," they say. "You're getting old."
Caught between a wrinkle and a smile
My life is a field, so free to roam
Yet all I can see is an iron gate
Help me reach the distant sea
So I can drift someplace far away
Where expectations are some forlorn myth
And daisies are the only reality
But hope is far beyond eye's reach
All I can do is beg that someone sees my dreams inside
And sets them free before they are buried
For even the thousand whispers of the sun can not help us touch the light
