Silence of a Soldier
  I call your phone-no answer.
  I write you a letter-no reply.
Sometimes I yell out your name,
but other times I don’t find the will to try.
The silence gets louder every day.
It’s the absence of your warm smile and loving advice.
I can still hear your voice
telling me that freedom has it’s price.
  You’re one of a kind.
You did what many couldn’t do.
  Even though I cry,
know that your country thanks you.
