Flip the switch
In a wave of depression
I'm left with oppression
My life is a tidal wave, in which I am a slave.
I tried to empty myself so I would feel nothing.
My choices have devoured me and swallowed me into the gulfs of everlasting despair.
I can't repair..
Myself, there's nothing I can do
To fix the damage.
Anxiety leaks through the cuts and broken bones life has given me.
The structure of my mind has been battered and bruised,
but I'll put it in neutral,
cruise through life and find light.
Maybe one day I'll find land, escape the crushing waves of depression.
It's become an obsession to find that thing people crave.
Happiness, is what its called.
So I'll take a leap of faith,
In hopes I won't reach the grave.
