Beach Beauties
The sun golden
glowing on my skin.
The wind whips my hair
And the salty smell carries on the breeze.
I squint to look out across the waves
But see nothing but water.
Behind me a son and father
toss a white disk between themselves.
A surfer rides the tides as they bellow
onto the sandy shore my toes sink into.
My camera attempts to capture this moment
and make it last forever,
yet the lens couldn’t ever contain
the rose reds of the San Diego sunset.
