I'm from a place where your world is only as large as your story

and thousands of eyes watch your every move.

What surronds you is bright and clear,

but only five feet infront of you is dark and unsure.

I'm from a place where an adventure only lasts for a few months,

but you get to relive it over and over again,

Where you get to be someone you're not,

but also discover who you are along the way.

Im from a place that smells of hairspray and wood,

where people either dress to the nines or are engulfed in black.

A place where who you are depends on whether or not you're in the wings,

and what costume you have on.

I'm from a place where applause can make you cry,

and tears can bring you joy,

where roses have the sweetest smell,

and the minute the lights come up you're surronded by nothing but love.

I'm from a place where your time is counted in sixteens,

and dance breaks are everyday occurrences,

where tights aren't, shoes change like the weather,

and smiles appear through sweat and strain.

I'm from blovking and props, where motivation is everything,

and words can do more than tell a story,

where sitting at a table can be anything but,

 and a face can say more than words in a script.

I'm from a place where music fills the air and voices ring in harmony,

where ballads and balts reign supreme,

and every emotion is expressed through a song.

A place where the most amazing feeking comes from holding a final note.

I'm from a place with little opportunities,

where someone else is always on your heels.

A place where do-overs don't exist,

and every show could be your last.

But i'm also from a place full of love and support,

where every person cares about the well-being of the next.

A place where no one wants to see you fail,

and a applaud your cast mates and much as the audience does.

I'm from a place where everything you do is to make someone else smile,

Where you spend your time perfecting a show someone will only see once,

just hoping you can spur any emotion from the people in front of you,

or hoping you will somehow make a difference in their lives.

I'm from a place where theatre is everything.

I spend my whole life practicing for my one shot,

Where supoort and inspiration comes from all around me,

 and I woulnd't give it up for anything in the world.

Becasue you have to know where you've been to know where you're going.
