Seven
I thought I was safe in such a heavenly place.
No one ever told us how hard life would get.
Yet they tell us lies, like you.
You told me you loved me.
You said you'd never go.
But once I hit seven,
You left at eleven.
I waited day by day as mamma worked.
Her soul is gone, but she is not.
She stayed, unlike you.
Now I'm twenty and I grew.
I learned to love,
I learned to lose.
You left when I was seven.
Mamma was the one to stay.
But now at 47 she went to heaven and left.
It was her time, but not yours.
You left when I was seven.
