Time.

Every day time goes by.
So we hide
Hoping to get younger.
So we hide
Hoping to last longer.
But the end comes for everyone and everything.
That is why we run and jump over the toughest hurdles to give meaning to our lives.
There is a present, yet we look to the past and the future.
We fear that today’s happiness brings tomorrow’s tears.
At least there is joy and love today.
Here we are: robots counting away our minutes.
We should be free of this dungeon and the
Handcuffs hiding a carefree world.
Ignore the clock that ticks and chimes
And screams to hurry up.
What is the hurry?
If time stopped
Maybe then I would dream again.
Maybe then I would accept the challenges that I face with a new alacrity.
The evanescence of time will lift the weight of the world off our shoulders.
When the end comes for one person, the world will take out its tissues and cry
Because one is only noticed once they have passed
And their time is up.
Ignore the clock that ticks and chimes
And screams to hurry up.
Time is an illusion.
The world is yours.
Pace yourself.
