My World
In my world the grass is red
and they sky is yellow
Trees are ants
and ants are flowers
Bruises are love bites
and tears are sugar
My world is a dark abyss
yours is like dancing on a rainbow
Kisses are like burning metal to my skin
People walk on their knees
and talk with their lips closed
the King is the beggar
and the knight is the princess
Reality isn't real
and Fantasy is only dreaming
People only make wishes when they are dead
Knives are made for pain
Cuts are what makes us happy
The wisest aer the dead
And the horses are the heroes
This is my world

I was 14 when I had written this and I had been in a very dark place. During that time, I had felt no one could understand how I felt about life. I had written this poem to unleash the difference I felt in myself compared to the "normal" teenager. I was bullied, depressed, and felt very alone at that point in my life. Sharing this makes me feel joy in my heart because I had realized a couple years later that no matter the pain you feel, there is always someone in the world who feels that exact pain you felt or the hopless feeling of being alone through a tough time. Remember, no matter how different you are, always be you. You may see blue grass or pink grass, but no matter what, people always see grass.
