Insecure
Listen child,
Life is like a prison and it’s wild
When they swing you have to swing back
Take the opportunity and never slack
They will try to cheat you and they will obtain you
Then you know you got to make a breakthrough
When the light dies you still shine
Abolishing the the poverty line
You will shine like I never did, you will shine
But mother,
Have you compared me to others?
Venomous monster
I am an imposter
You know, can never be the best
Nevertheless I don’t feel set
I’m scared and fragile
To me the world is like battle
I don’t I think shine, I can’t shine

My poem is about a girls and her mother having a conversation about how she should go about the world but the girl feels insure and does not think she can shine. I think my poem would be a wonderfull peice to publish in Teen Ink magazine because this is how many girls feel.
