A Siren's Psalm

A broken heart is the hollow creak of forlorn ships in the night against waves of fate. Awaiting anxiously against torrent wind for a promise of land. Grown men cling to the bough, praising their God or wailing in sorrow. In awe of the sea and her beautiful destruction. It’s a sweet sadness, one that pierces the soul. When you can see everything you’ve built cave in on itself, something inside breaks with the waves of realization
“it was I alone, in love with thee? and now I see?doomed are we”
Cast off from me my foolish dream ?while tears drown heartstrings, as casting a harp far out to sea.
Sink to the deep dark depths, words unspoken and promises unkept. The cold encased the hole in my chest, maybe someday you'll explain the rest.
