When spring has sprung,
I look out the window into my backyard,
And see the blooming magnolia tree,
Full with big white flowers
And within that view
I see the faint memory of you,
I see your laugh
I see your smile
And if I try hard enough,
I can hear your voice
Still, years later, the sadness overwhelms me,
And every time I catch of glimpse a magnolia tree,
I am reminded of you,
And I feel relief
There are too many feelings,
So much sadness,
That come from this simple tree
But I am happy,
Because even though you’re up so high in the sky,
Down here, I still get to have a piece of you
It feels as though every spring,
I find a way to miss you more
I am reminded of your essence,
Because of that lovely Magnolia tree,
With beautiful white petals
And light pink accents
Elegant, with a sweet fragrance
Thank you Magnolia,
For letting me have a part of her
