Red**
The rain ran down the windowsill
in smooth slick motions.
Dan was sitting in front of the tv
watching cartoons idly
when he decided
that he would paint his mother a
picture.
He rushed to his room for his
supplies.
Brushes, paper, and paint.
But there was one problem.
There was no red paint,
his mother's favorite
color.
He pondered this dilemma for a
moment
Then decided to consult with his
brother.
Tony
was sitting at the top of the stairs
reading
when Dan kicked him from behind,
hard.
Dan filled all of his paper
with red flowers and butterflies.
He was a little afraid of what his
mother was going to say about the
mess at the bottom of the stairs
but he was sure she would love his
painting because her favorite
color was
red.
