The Infection
It started out as something small on his wrist,
he would look in the mirror, his empty eyes staring back.
he told everyone he would be fine,
and yes he tried
but the infection spread
from his arms to his legs,
eventually to his stomach and thighs
slowly bleeding, contaminating his body, it spread
anywhere it could go and when it all finally got to his head,
within days he was dead.
and then it got ahold of his sister
started the same way, a few marks on her wrist,
how did that turn into this?
blood stained bathroom tiles, bathwater dyed red
it wasn’t just inside her head,
she couldn’t stop the thoughts or her actions, it had taken control
it continued to spread. and once she was covered
she couldn’t even try to heal
the infection had gotten so much bigger
so she grabbed the gun and pulled the trigger.
her best friend is the one to find her
laying in a pool of red
dead
surrounded by pills and bottles
and she sees no need for tomorrow
the infection had already started working its sorrow
see, her best friend has a problem,
the likes to look down from tall places.
so far from the world, making faces blurry
she went to her favorite place
looking down
at pills and empty bottles
the infection had gotten her too
for she had jumped only a few days after her friend pulled the trigger
after her bestfriends brother had bled out
this will continue, for the infection never stops
depression doesn't stop.
