The Wine of Dandellions
I've crossed my fingers
Picked the petals off all the daisies
"He loves me."
I've blown out each and every candle
"He loves me not."
Four leaf clovers are woven into the wild jungle of my hair, sunflower barrettes.
Effortlessly flying through the starry night sky
Wind is weightless
Count all the constellations
Make a wish
Double knot my shoelaces
Wish again
Through clasped hands that grasp at fragile dandelions
I pray that the wine will be as sweet as the the white spindles are soft
Just another sip will get me through
Maybe
Oh maybe
My wish will come true
