melting
we held hands frequently
so you might assume we had a stereotypical love
you assume I would notice her
piercing blue eyes, sewn from the fabric of the ocean
and that we were made up
of passionate moments
gripping each other desperately,
spilling poetry, like red wine on white carpet, staining our mutual heart,
but I loved Katie with intuition
her palm was warm
my palm was warm
we lay in green grass
staring at blue sky
our hands drifted together
making us sweaty
and we melted in the dewey field
