The Memory That Circles Your Bed at Night
Memories of the day before,
Problems, questions, thoughts,
Circling your head,
Around your bed,
Leaving trails of silver thought in their wake,
Awaiting you, when you wake.
But in the time in between,
When the world is not so mean,
Your dreams replace your thoughts,
With DOs instead of DO NOTs.
But when you wake up, to your thoughts,
They ground you in what you have wrought.
Your actions from the day before,
Now lay before you at your door.

I wrote this for a school assignment. I think it communicates the in between state before you fall asleep or before you fully wake up.
