It’s a simple game, round the square bases.
But the unimaginable happened,
The Jays became aces.
All eyes on them
Here they go on the quest for glory.

Strong willed, excited, jubilant.
They strap up for the battle.
The crowd exuberant,
Both sides giving it their all,
As the battle turns to war.
They start to seem a little weary
The Jays now on their knees
But then he says “do not worry”

He steps forward! Not willing to go down!
He’s a menacing, lumbering giant!
Yes! They now fear him, they are starting to breakdown!
He’s just a simple man but now he seems like a warrior ready to attain glory
He looks at them in the eyes, letting them know their faith!
He waits, for the perfect time to swing.

The first one goes,
The second one goes,
Wait! This third one was foul play!
Oh! Now he was angry! All of Rome could not hold him back!
He focuses on his prey!
He looks like a lion about to pounce!
POP! This time he gets it! The perfect swing!
He watches it go as he rounds the square bases!

I live in Brampton, which is a city near Toronto. I am a huge sprts fan and in 2015 the Toronto Blue Jays (a baseball team) made an incredible run to the playoffs. In the first round of the playoffs the Blue Jays played the Texas Rangers and it was a hard fought series, there was controversy about a bat flip and it was talked about alot here in Toronto, so when we were writing a poem for our English class I thought I should write about the Blue Jays and their incredible spirit.
