"Life is not a jigsaw puzzle meant to be put together, rather it is an abstract painting, the beauty of which lies in its incomprehensibility"- Abrar Farhan

It was raining droplets of ink

which made little to no sense

sometimes I feel as if I'm too dense

to understand jokes made at my expense

Black then white like a single blink

Hope paves the way for despair

What's to say it was even there?

Now I know better than to care

Lost sight interpreting Sun's scathing wink

Blind before sunset, emotions will reset

Fragile balance soon to be upset

'cause I'm tired of knowing what to expect

The author's comments:

My school uniform is white... I had the misfortune of having a black gel pen leak while inside my shirt pocket. Naturally I was doubly punished, firstly for incorrect uniform and secondly by my peers for appearing riddiculous.

In the brief second I closed my eyes... everything was black... and I could ignore my surroundings for a blissful albeit infinitesimal instant  ... the next day I did not want to go to school but as Robert Frost said... "Life Goes On."
