Wings spread right open wide

stubbornly
See me as a butterfly
soft and melted down
buttery
Little they know, these wing tips like knives
Touch them once
If you will
They’ll hurry out from disguise
Caress me
If you will
hungered ears fed fake beauty
If you will
Stay famished
Hunger ever-still
kiss eyes shut, slow me down
chiseling shells of turtles
Clear as crystal, see your ways
Devil blinding bright, airing murky haze
Plodding ears; just the same
Myrene shadows out, behind the myrtle

Out, leave me
if you will
shrinking
deep browning bowels, dirt-filled
Lying on dirt I won’t be
In the lap of my – our –
Mother, i’ll be
wouldn’t dare dig your eyes
doesn’t dare swim into sea
fevering, frozen grime
Rays shot out
rose petals stolen, bare branches
Never brattled, never fallen
Wrinkled into leather
steal you will
That old hat, worn
But give you will
Strength stored deep
Every jagged line of my hide

Out, leave me.
If you will
shivering with the cold
Shivering I won’t be
True trembles echoed atop glassed sea
Ice block nested to the west, thumping but barely
No shiver as true

Winds howling over, cutting fabric thin
Skin dancing to the Anemois’ tune
Patterns quilted with splashy steps
Whispering warning winds
Bark loud, get all wanted
Spits of flame
Set me ablaze!
Scorching skin, clothes
my heart?
Never, molded into stone
my mind?
Never, diamonds the heat’ll only harden

Slick snake screened
Malignant, behind squares of flint
Light another match!
If you will
Dare
Suns me
Gives me back my leaves
Shading those standing right behind me
Keep my
Our head with Everest
Look up
Rays banishers to the sight
Our shoulders pinned
Try pushing
Blades’ll cut the touch
Our wings out
Try nearing
Stick never bundle breaking
Dare
Dare
Ever
As we will.
