I Wish That You Hadn't Left Me
I walk,
Seeing only my breath
Clouding the brisk air.
I miss you.
This song
Only makes me feel more
Lonely.
Although familiar and safe,
It doesn't sound
Nearly as sweet
As it did
Coming from your lips.
This song reminds me that
You are gone.
And I miss you.
And though the thought of you
Pains me,
I suddenly need you here.
Maybe even singing
This song.
I know that you have moved on,
But I need to know:
Do you miss me?

I wrote this as I was listening to a song that was introduced to me by a friend. However, her and I had drifted apart quite a bit. This poem, although somewhat cliche, shows what I feel every time I hear this song, and how much I miss her.
