Trees.

It stands tall and mighty.
It’s an amazing living thing
and a very divine and vibrant indeed.

Trees,
they’re all unique and different
in their own special way,
but that’s what makes them great.
Some go through more than others.
Some get cut down and are gone.
Some can become worldly known.
Some are only noticed by few people,
but that’s all that they need.

The tree bark.
The rough,
dark colored,
coarse bark
that prickles underneath
fingertips that graze across
and trace out the breaks
between the thick, bristly bark.

Sometimes bark falls off,
but it can grow back.
In a way it’s like skin.
And suddenly,
it’s like the piece of them that has diminished
has now returned anew.
As if,
it’s brand new and ready to begin again,
but it’s still the same old tree it always has been,
just a little bit different and a little bit older.

The branches.
The thin and thick arms
that emerge all around
with their sometime smooth
and sometimes ridged texture.

As the tree grows,
the branches appear
and grow in number.
It’s a part of the tree’s life.
Small or big every branch is important
and holds memories.
Some are merely somber
and some are indubitably blithe.
All are essential to ones life, though.

The leaves.
The delicate green leaves
that hang from the branches,
in which memories are contained.
Leaves can be smoothly textured,
but also roughly textured.
Some have jagged edges,
while others have smooth and round ones.

While leaves are meant to stay,
there are some that don’t.
They fly adrift
in the crisp, cool air.
This can happen often,
but it’s okay in the end.
There will be more leaves
and the ones who stick on those firm branches
are the best ones of all.

In the winter,
when the leaves are gone,
it’s sad,
but they come back in the end;
peeking their heads out
into the warmth of spring.

The roots.
The deep, broad roots
that snake and squirm
into the depths of the earth.

The roots are where the tree first began.
It shows who the tree is.
The roots are the foundation
of the lush and magnificent tree’s life.
And if things go according to plan
then the tree will grow and prosper
and it will absolutely be one good tree.
