Innocence
That very day everything I knew came crashing down,
and I now knew nothing.
That very day I lost my direction,
what I was doing,
where I was going.
That very day time changed,
things seem to never end.
That very day I became scared of little things,
books dropping and doors slamming.
That very day I began to view people through different eyes,
who could I trust?
That very day I realized people aren't always who they claim to be,
people are deceitful.
That very day I began to feel dangered,
and in a place I was supposed to feel safe.
That very day I began to view society through different eyes,
what was wrong?
That very day I experienced fear,
not the kind you get watching a scary movie.
That very day I began to see the wrong in things,
not everything is good and pure.
That very day everything I knew came to an end,
and that very day I became another person,
and that very day I lost my innocence.
