Carpe Diem
Art Inspiration (Carpe Diem) by Tomoki Hayasaka
A baby is born and a elder has died,
One celebrates a birthday with cake and presents,
The other celebrates with what little they have,
I watch silently with each and every little detail,
Years and centuries go by,
Chop chop, click clack
One more is down,
Crack,
One hundred more
You don't realize you take everything for granted.
Once you notice,
You finally notice, we'll almost be gone
It will be too late,
Crispy silk skies will be clouded by intoxicating pollution,
Everyone at your fingertips are dying,
Boom boom, sounds of nuclear war ring like an alarm clock,
Money is nothing, you fight for a single crumb of food,
How tragic it seems you thought you had everything,
You thought this would never happen,
You took me for granted and now you see,
Once the toxic hand of death has cut me with its scissors,
You'll no longer have me to breathe,
The very last tree.

The artwork "Carpe Diem" by Tomoki Hayasaka inspired me to write this for one of my classes. It is about taking things for granted and that you shouldn't take it for granted because you I ever know what might happen. (Even tho it's kinda bad hhhh)
