A Perfect Lie

I thought I had found it
I thought that I had found perfectness
I thought that I had found something special
But I was really only lying
To myself
To my heart
I needed something, someone
To understand
To understand me
But what I found was a fake
A lie
A character I had created in my mind
I know now
But I wish I would've known before
Before my heart was broken
