concert ticket
A small piece of paper held in my hand
Different colors and fonts fill the space
Black bolded letters written across the top
The paper has no value but
The experience is the opposite
This thin slip can change a life
And even save one too
Months and weeks spent waiting for the day
Its here
a glow falls over you
Feelings of freedom overwhelming you
A blissful moment you’ll remember for years
All captured in this tiny ticket in my palm
Your passport into a stadium, venue or arena
Your gateway into a whole new world
Lights go down, hands go up
As the first melody is heard
