Little Black Object
Little black, rectangular object
What are you?
You don’t have hands, feet, or a face,
but you can talk.
You can solve a math problem in the blink of an eye,
I can’t.
You can visually store memories,
I can’t.
Are you better than me?
You’re odd,
I can’t wrap my mind around you.
but i give you the power to control my life.
You can choose what music i listen to today,
you can also choose where i spend my time.
I don't pay attention to the life around me when you’re near,
And when you’re far I spend my time wishing you were here.
My mind is chained as i willingly let you drag me into your world.
A world of buttons and wants.
Confining me in an electronic world.
You tell me to blink, i blink.
You tell me to smile, i smile.
You tell me to laugh, i laugh.
Little black, rectangular object.
You’re my brain.
