Griffen
Expectations so high,
Just out of reach,
Constantly compared,
Never enough.
Big smile, all laughs,
Loud mouth to hide the sorrow.
Façade never changes,
Neither does the disappointment.
Good grades, better test scores,
Go to school, become a doctor, an engineer.
Lost in the shadow of siblings and relatives,
No one cares what I want.
Making parents happy is all I’m used to,
Living day to day,
Only living to please.
