Love Forgiveness

Staring into opaque lenses
Hearts heavy---Hands were twisted and bound
Trust flew away---we were lost
Passion  buried in the ground

A thief prances in
Stealthy as a night---stolen by day
Unrealizing, she dives into the trap
Black and white, seizes what he may

A stillness suffocates the air
He throws himself away---the shadow scores
I fall to ruins---over regrets
Will he want again---and more?

A spark relights,
Hidden in the deepest cove
“Sorry” echoed in space
And there he rises--- true love.

This poem was written about a relationship I went through. I was inspired to write it because the obstacles I faced didn't fit the same obstacles a typical relationship would. After breaking up for a significant amount of time, you wouldn't think that you could get back with the person. In addition, mistakes were made and could they be overcome? The emotion invoked in this poem depicts the pain and reuniting powers of love. I hope that people who are going through the same thing realize that you can always break the stereotypes.
