Tomorrow
I look upon today with joy.
What will come? What we’ll see? What is our destiny?
The morning sunshine,
As soft as feathers on a mother hen.

Time is lost, but I feel stuck.
What shall I do? What will occur? How will I feel?
Not knowing makes me scared, sorrow and spared,
That my fate has not reached me.

The past is still creeping up on my soul.
Should I? Or should I not? What is right and what is wrong?
It haunts me like the ocean’s words,
Telling me it’s okay.

The past is gone and I am free.
What does my future hold? Can I let go? Will I become someone?
I’ve been lifted off my bed of tears that I’ve slept on for a million years.
I can finally say goodbye,
Today, may not be ok,
By tomorrow is where I’ll stay

The author's comments:

Most individuals are inspired by the big things in life. They can't see the little things that are so monumental and meaningful. I try to take time to let the little things inspire me so I don't get caught up in the everyday struggles in life. My main inspiration is myself. I don't mean it in a selfish way, but the things I'm going through are very difficult and I wanted to express my emotions through my writing. I want it to be relatable and I want people to learn from my poem. My hope is that someone who is feeling the same emotional stress of life will be inspired to take life by the reigns and never give up!
