The Itchy Sensation
It’s a sensation worth knowing.
The nerves are immune, yet
The pressure is forever growing.
You move forward, by walking backwards, yet
You’ll do your best to keep your walk from showing.
It’s fine that you feel this way, yet
Don’t let it stop you from growing.
It’s constant, yes, and sometimes painful, yet
That shouldn't stop your smile from glowing.
The feeling is like oblivion, never ending, yet
As chaotic and relevant as the ocean’s constant flowing.
Trapped, and alone, and always itching, yet
You’ve not dwelled on that feeling, always passing, but slowing.
Once you’ve felt it, it’ll be there, itching, waiting to be eased, yet
You know what will come after, only constant mourning.
It won’t always be there forever, it’ll stop once you’ve finally broken down, yet
You yearn for that breaking, that feeling to end it’s everlasting brewing.
It’s fine to let go, if there is no where left to turn but forward, yet
That itch will be there in your constant roaming, yet,
Yet….. it will always better than the constant mourning.
